This is what I wrote for my SPM trials English paper:
My mum said that I used to shake my booty whenever I hear music as a toddler. To be frank, I still do it when no one is around. When I was 6, my maid told me that I sounded like Siti Nurhaliza. I still wonder how sure she was about it.
I do not really have a specific music genre that I like. I listen to all kinds of songs. I listen to English, Malay, Indonesian and even Latin songs! I also listen to a few Korean songs by CN Blue.
I think the greatest songs of all time are the song in the 90's. Girls these days are so obsessed about Justin Bieber, One Direction, or the squinted-eyed Korean boy bands. As for me, I would still go for Westlife, Backstreet Boys, Blue and N'Sync. (Yes! I totally agree... but shhh... don't tell anyone..)
During my childhood, I have listened to many great songs. I did not even know much of the lyrics. However, when I hear these songs on air, I would quickly memorize or jot down some of the lyrics so that I could search for the songs and download them from the Internet.
Loving music does not necessarily mean that one should know all the music notes or perform on stage. Music is one way to express our feelings and it affects one's heart.
My friends and I often sing in class while completing our tasks. We would go out for karaoke. They love the 90's songs too. Especially Faiqah. I think she knows every lyric of the songs that I know. We both think we have gone to the wrong school. We should have been in the arts school.
Today, songs by our local singers like Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Mizz Nina and Yuna are known and listened by people from all over the world. As a Malaysian, I am so proud of them. I really hope for more Malaysian artists to be born and reach international level.
Puan Noryani's remarks: You should write more.. fill up 2 pages, Adlina. Pour your heart out...
Mark given: 40 out of 50
